Tonya M. Foster is the author of the bilingual chapbook La Grammaire des Os and the poetry collection A Swarm of Bees in High Court. A co-editor of Third Mind: Creative Writing through Visual Art, Tonya has published poetry and essays in a range of publications. Born in Bloomington, Illinois and raised in New Orleans, LA, Foster earned a BA from Tulane University, an MFA in Poetry from the University of Houston, and is completing a PhD in English at the Graduate Center, CUNY. She has been a recipient of fellowships from New York Foundation for the Arts, the Macdowell Colony, the Ford Foundation, the Mellon Foundation, and the Graduate Center, CUNY, among others. She is a poetry editor at Fence Magazine, and is an Assistant Professor of Writing & Literature and Creative Writing at California College of the Arts,
