Carlo Matos

Carlo Matos has published several books of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, including It's Best Not to Interrupt Her Experiments (Negative Capability Press). His poems, stories, and essays have appeared in such journals as Iowa Review, Boston Review, Handsome, Pank, and Rhino, among many others. Carlo has received grants from the Illinois Arts Council, The Sundress Academy for the Arts, and the Fundação Luso-Americana and is a winner of the Heartland Poetry Prize. He teaches writing at the City Colleges of Chicago, is a member of Poems While You Wait, a former cage fighter, and a practitioner of the Renaissance Italian rapier.
