Kathleen Alcala

Kathleen Alcalá is the author of six award-winning books of fiction and nonfiction, including Spirits of the Ordinary and the recent The Deepest Roots: Finding Food and Community on a Pacific Northwest Island. A graduate of Stanford, the University of Washington, and the NOLA low-residency MFA program, she is a frequent lecturer and writing instructor. Kathleen is currently reading and writing about the rule of al-Mu'Tamid Ibn Abad, the last Hispano Arabic king of Seville. More at www.kathleenalcala.com
