Benjamin Aleshire lives in New Orleans, and travels the world as a poet-for-hire, composing poems for strangers in the street on a manual typewriter. In 2019 he received a James Merrill fellowship to the Vermont Studio Center, and the Words & Music Festival prize in nonfiction. His work has appeared in The Times UK, Lit Hub, Iowa Review, Boston Review, and his manuscript FAKE NOOSE was a finalist for the Alice James Award and the Faulkner-Wisdom Prize.
