Christopher Harter

Christopher Harter is the Director of Library and Reference Services at the Amistad Research Center, a non-profit, independent archives in New Orleans that focuses on ethnic history, civil rights, and social justice. He has worked in archives and special collections libraries for over 20 years and has a particular passion for literary and publishing archives. In addition, from 1997-2007, Christopher operated Pathwise Press and edited the rambunctious literary magazine Bathtub Gin. His poetry and reviews have appeared in Bottle, Heeltap, pLopLop, prechelonian, Post Poems, Sometimes City Undercovers, Spring Chicken, Stovepipe, Small Press Review, The Frank Review and elsewhere. A sucker for literary history, he authored An Author Index to Little Magazines of the Mimeograph Revolution (Scarecrow Press, 2008) and a forthcoming bibliography of John Bennett's Vagabond Press.
