Toni Bee

Toni Bee is a poet, educator, and photographer raised in Boston, MA, educated in Roxbury. She is a Poet Populist emeritus of Cambridge, the first woman to grace that position. Bee led the Black Lives Matter march of Cambridge in 2015 and the following year was selected as Cambridge’s Inaugural Poetry Ambassador. Toni was a teaching artist and storyteller at The Wang Theatre and received a BA from Simmons University. She self-published her first poetry book 22 Again. During the pandemic, Toni and other deeply melanin neighbors were unwelcome in a local garden - so she founded Poets in The Garden: where literary arts and diverse gardeners meet. The program was is hosted  at the historic Longfellow House and Washington headquarters in Cambridge, MA and continues in 2024. This poet is published with Boog City and local publications / lectured at Simmons University / and featured at Grolier Poetry Book Shop/ The Lizard Lounge, The Cantab (Boston Poetry Slam), Stone Soup Poetry The New England Poetry Club, The Boston National Poetry Month Festival, The Boston Poetry Marathon, and has been a panelist at The Massachusetts Poetry Festival.
