Isabel de la Fuente (Montevideo, Uruguay 1973), poet, translator, actress and cultural manager. Completed her studies at the acting school Escuela de Acción Teatral Alambique and has studied for a BA in Literature at FHCE Udelar (Faculty of Humanities, University of the Republic). She currently works in the theatre, multidisciplinary spectacles and performances. She teaches creative writing in her own workshop, also acting, and is the creator of Seminario Cuerpo de Letra (Writing in movement and performance). Her writings are included in several publications and anthologies of Uruguay and other countries. She has published –among others: Mal Puñal (Evil Dagger) (Artefato, 2003) and Antología de Poesía Portuguesa Contemporánea (both the selection and the translation are hers). She has shown diverse exhibits of visual poetry, poems and visual arts. Since 1996 she has been organizing the cycle Caramelos y Pimientos (Candies and Peppers) as well as festivals and art programmes. She has won the Morosoli Prize of Literature (2005), the Grand Prix Moliere (2003), and the first prize in the 9th and 10th Arts Festival of Young Theatre in 1999 and 2000.
