Wendy Barnes was raised in Prairieville, LA, and is a longtime resident of New York City. She earned an MFA in Writing at California Institute of the Arts and a Doctor of Letters degree from Drew University. Her poetry has appeared in publications like Narrative, Painted Bride Quarterly, No, Dear, storySouth, Spoon River Review, Slice Magazine, and Coldfront, as well as in the anthologies Kama Sutra (Morandi) and Paris, Etc. (Serving House). She also contributes art reviews to Frog, an international magazine of art and architecture based in France. Her chapbook, So-Called Mettle, was published in 2012 (Finishing Line). She has received scholarships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, and she is an associate professor of English at Union County College in New Jersey.
